According to the source, the black box of the crashed warplane is in good condition.
Russia’s Aerospace Forces have suspended Su-27 flights after a fatal crash in the Moscow region on Thursday, the Russian Defense Ministry said. The body of the pilot was found in the forest at the accident site, located about two kilometers from the village of Muranovo. “There is no damage on the ground either”, the ministry said. “He had no time left for ejection”, Ministry representatives added.
The planes of the Russian Knights aerobatic team flew above Ashukino as part of the event, attended by Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Borisov and Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Air Force Viktor Bondarev.
Earlier reports said that the crashed aircraft was a Mikoyan MiG-29 belonging to an industrial enterprise. One of the fighters crashed when returning to the airbase.
The plane probably exploded upon impact, an unidentified crash witness told the journalists.
The jet was piloted by Major Sergei Yeremenko, according to TASS.
