Sanders keeps fighting despite Clinton claiming victory

For Sanders, as his remarkable White House bid runs out of next stops, the only question is when.

House Democratic leaders were not ready to give him a hard push out the door, instead hewing closely to a script set by the Clinton campaign that leaves the decision to Sanders. Sanders and Obama will meet, at the senator’s request, at the White House on Thursday.

The survey was conducted before Hillary Clinton became the Democratic party’s presumptive nominee.

After Turner’s speech, Sanders finally made it to the podium to greet his supporters, and not once mentioned Clinton’s delegate threshold.

Sanders had previously reduced his staff and redeployed most of his team to California ahead of Tuesday’s primary. “When he says, ‘Let’s make America great again, ‘ that is code for ‘Let’s take America backwards”‘. Bernie Sanders of Vermont has promised to take his campaign to the Democratic convention, but his supporters in Congress are hoping he doesn’t take things too far. He called both Clinton and Sanders after voting wrapped up late Tuesday.

Sanders vowed to continue to his campaign to the last contest in the District of Columbia next Tuesday.

The president wants to be more actively involved in the presidential race, according to sources, CNN reports.

Sen. Bob Casey of Pennsylvania said it was time for the party to unite, “The sooner the better”, and Sen. “Sanders is going to have something to say about this as well”.

“I think it will make a very big difference for a father or a mother to be able to look at their daughter, just like they can look at their son, and say, “You can be anything that you want to be in this country, including president of the United States”, she said.

As Hillary Clinton moves to become the first woman to be the presidential nominee of a major U.S. political party, she may find herself drawing on a previous position as she appeals to voters.

Both Mr Obama and Bill Clinton earned wide support from women in their election wins, and Hillary should also largely benefit from the gender gap in November.

Aiming to preserve his credibility among Sanders backers, Obama has avoided appearing to tip the scales while voters were still weighing in. Clinton has been in the public eye for a long time, ever since her husband, a guy you might remember named William Jefferson Clinton, was himself elected President of the United States back in 1992. He has promised to campaign full-throttle for the Democratic nominee. There are respectable candidates in their ranks who can lead their ticket, people who have refused to embrace a candidate so clearly abhorrent to American and conservative values.

Sanders added, “The American people in my view will never support a candidate whose major theme is bigotry, who insults Mexicans, who insults Muslims and women and African-Americans”.

Earnest spoke with reporters as Obama traveled to NY for a pair of Democratic fundraisers and an appearance on NBC’s Tonight show.

Clinton’s rival, Sen. Bernie Sanders, pledged anew late Tuesday to “continue the fight” all the way to the Philadelphia convention. His brief address in a Santa Monica airport hangar felt at times like a valedictory as he thanked supporters for “being part of the political revolution”.

With no one else left in the race, Trump easily won all five Republican primaries Tuesday. Despite handily winning GOP contests in California, New Jersey, New Mexico, South Dakota and Montana, Trump was in damage control mode over his ethnicity-based attacks on a Hispanic judge that had party leaders in fits.
