First Offense Cheaters Will Be Permanently Banned
“We will be continuing to support the community on this issue, and we want to assure you that if a player is using cheating software, they are not welcome in Rainbow Six Siege”, Ubisoft said.

To pin down cheaters, Ubisoft makes use of “FairFight”, a server-side anti-cheat engine that weeds out players who are caught cheating.
Siege has been out for around six months now but recently, Ubisoft has been implementing some changes to the game. While many were thrilled about the “Siege” Starter Edition, which is available for only $15 or €15, some felt threatened over the game developer’s warning regarding its cheating or hacking policy. Instead, if you’re caught cheating, you simply get a permanent ban.
The Division is still troubled by cheaters and Ubisoft’s previous attempts to battle back haven’t really gotten anywhere. “We will take all steps necessary to track down cheaters and make sure they can not spoil your enjoyment of the game”. Blizzard instituted the same policy with Overwatch and banned thousands of players not long after the game’s launch (via IGN).
The presence of cheating in the game is something we take very seriously, and is a priority on the development team. The combination of cheaters in the Dark Zone combined with a disappointing reception to the first two free DLC drops featuring Incursion Zones.
The Last Stand expansion is the final planned DLC for The Division.

Apart from the maximum penalty, the company also announced that it will be going through numerous other “anti-cheating” measures in the coming days. For a detailed explanation on Ubisoft’s ruling, check out GameSpot.
