Free Fishing Day offered June 11
This year, Free Fishing Day is Saturday, and the Division of Wildlife Resources is helping with several free events across the state.

Grab a fishing pole with some bait and head down to the pond in Veterans’ Memorial Park on Saturday for the Nevada Department of Wildlife’s Free Fishing Day.
Minnesotans can take children 15 or younger fishing without licenses on Friday through Sunday, during Take a Kid Fishing Weekend. Although states establish their own criteria for free fishing days, most waive fishing license requirements and sponsor special activities at local events.
Head to Lewis Emery Park and rearing ponds Saturday, June 11, from 9:30 a.m.to 1 p.m. for this fun event.
And, for those who want even more fishing advice, the Fish Washington video page (http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/washington/videos/) provides “how to” fishing videos created to introduce techniques to both new and seasoned anglers. Choose a place and time of year (now!) when you are certain to catch fish.any size fish.
National Fishing Week is sponsored by federal and state agencies, the sport-fishing industry, private enterprises, civic and conservation organizations.
There is no cost to participate, and all participants will need an adult with them. When someone catches a fish, the young angler will want to join back in.
Prizes will be offered, and some fishing equipment will be available to check out and use. If the fishing slows to the extent they become bored, suggest heading for home. “We hope the annual opportunity leads to great memories and sparks kids’ interest in fishing”.
