Mohammad Amir granted UK visa
“The PCB has been officially informed that the UK Government has approved the visa for Muhammad Amir”, said a statement issued on Thursday.

Amir returned to the global arena at the beginning of this year following a five-year ban for spot-fixing, but his Test comeback had been cast into doubt over concerns surrounding his visa.
The PCB had filed an application for Amir’s visa on May 20 and was confident of an approval, which eventually came after 21 days; his application was also supported by the European Central Bank.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Thursday pacer Muhammad Amir has been granted visa by United Kingdom authorities for Pakistan’s upcoming tour of England.
It will be at Lord’s on July 14 when Amir could play his first Test in six years.
The visa clearance means that Amir, 24, will be allowed to play in England for the first time since being convicted of spot-fixing six years ago.
In the preceding MCC Spirit of Cricket Series, Aamir took 11 wickets in two matches against Australia.
The PCB chief had written a letter to the UK High Commissioner seeking special and sympathetic consideration on Amir’s visa. The PCB have time and again said that Junaid is struggling with a knee injury, but the fast bowler has come out and said that he has recovered fully from the knee injury.
“I have no problem playing against him at all”.

Since his return to global cricket, Amir has bagged five wickets in two One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and has recorded an economy rate of only 6.18 in 11 T20Is.
