The Moto Z will be offered in black/lunar gray and white/fine gold, while the Moto Z Force will just be available in black/lunar gray.

As for the other hardware specifications, Moto Z features a Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM, and its 5.5-inch screen size resonates a QHD resolution.

The Incipio OffGrid Power Pack has a 2220 mAh battery, giving you up to 22 additional hours of battery life whenever you need it. Plus, its smart Efficiency Mode can give you up to 20 per cent more battery life by automatically charging your phone when efficiency is at its peak.

According to leaked images, the Moto X will sport a front-facing camera with flash, as well as a redesigned back camera which looks to have integrated the sensors within its lens. Lenovo and Motorola have a slightly more tempered, and achievable, ambition to make the smartphone modular in steady steps.

Beleaguered smartphone maker Motorola is releasing two new flagship handsets, the Moto Z and the more expensive variant, the Moto Z force. Dubbed MotoMods, there are aesthetic-only rear cover add-ons called Style Shields as well as functional accessories including a 50-lumen pico projector that outputs up to a 70-inch image, an external 2,200mAh battery pack and a 6W JBL speaker system that pumps out up to 80 decibels. Next up is the Moto Insta-Share Projector, allowing you to turn your respective Moto Z into a 70in movie projector.

The Moto Z is razor thin, i.e. 5.2 millimeters and it features a high-end built, made from stainless steel and aluminum (aircraft-grade supposedly).

In the USA, the phones will be Verizon exclusives among carriers this summer, Lenovo will then begin selling unlocked versions directly to consumers in the fall.

The highlight feature of the Moto Z is its Moto Mods.

Here you’ll see up close and personal looks at the Moto Z JBL SoundBoost. Later this year, Google’s Project Ara will join the modular smartphone race.

Lenovo kicked off the show with YouTube star Meghan McCarthy showing off two awesome prototypes – actual flexible, foldable phones and tablets.

It has all the same specs as the regular Moto Z, too, but here the battery is much larger, supposedly delivering 40 hours of mixed usage and standby time and producing a whopping 15 hours of power after being TurboPower charged for 15 minutes. The Moto Z Force is the same but with a better battery life, shattershield protection and faster charging – 15 minutes of charging can get you 15 hours of battery life. While they don’t add any modular functionality, these covers instantly let you customize how your phone appears.
