Who in their right mind would behave like this unless you are deranged.’.

OK, parents, would you have helped your child eat or taken the pancakes to go?

“I turned around, slammed both hands on the counter and then pointed at the child and said – this has got to stop!”

Facebook users are flooding the diner’s page with their opinion about the incident, and many who have had their dining experiences ruined by loud children are voicing their support for Neugebauer. Neugebauer said that she attempted to get the parents to box up the meal and leave or deal with the child’s crying so that other patrons weren’t disturbed, but they refused.

Needless to say though, Neugebauer’s unsolicited lesson on parenting – and restaurant etiquette, for that matter – was not well received by the baby’s parents.

She went on a tirade so epic, so off the wall and aggressive, that it set off a firestorm of online responses, likes, shares and clicks unlike any story from Maine since probably the North Pond Hermit hysteria, perhaps even bigger than that.

She also alluded to physical violence, saying, “I am fucking mad & you are lucky I didn’t get really fucking nuts because being physical is not something I cower from … male or female”. As we’ve written about a few times on this blog now, Marcy’s Diner owner Darla Neugebauer made national news after snapping at the toddler crying in her restaurant – and her colorful reactions on Facebook and to the media afterward.

“Its something we’ve all dealt with in the restaurant business before”, she said. “I had the worst experience at this establishment”, she wrote, according to a photograph of the post taken and tweeted by WCSH’s Ted Varipatis. “I might be a local hero”, she told WCSH-6. “When things stop, it’s usually a good thing”, she said.
