Broncos Offer Von Miller $114M Deal, Miller Reportedly Wants More

Miller’s situation may prove more complicated, as the Super Bowl MVP outside linebacker is seeking to become the NFL’s highest-paid defensive player, with more in average salary and guaranteed money than Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who makes $19.06 million per year on average.

$39.8 million in guarantees over the first two years is likely a big sticking point for Miller, who’s stated recently he wants quarterback money-a contract that pays him north of $20 million.

Given Miller’s age (27) it wouldn’t be surprising if John Elway wanted to get the guaranteed money on this deal out of the way early. As an exclusive rights free agent, he is not eligible to receive offers or negotiate with other teams. The key component to National Football League contracts is the guaranteed dollars, particularly within the first three years of any deal.

Schefter later tweeted the likelihood of the two sides coming to an agreement prior to the July 15 deadline seemed slim, but not impossible. The Broncos had a similar situation going on a year ago with receiver Demaryius Thomas and got the deal done at the 11th hour.

Chicago Bears offensive lineman Manny Ramirez is retiring.

Mike Klis of 9 News in Denver reports that contract talks between the Super Bowl MVP and Denver are off, with Denver having set a 10 p.m.

Miller, who has been noticeably absent during offseason workouts, was with his team when they traveled to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. on Monday to be honored for their Super Bowl 50 win.

Citing police, WFAA also reported that the bullet entered Talib’s right thigh and exited his right calf. Such a trajectory suggests he could have shot himself.

On Tuesday, Kubiak said the Broncos have discussed a timetable for his return, but he declined to offer further details about a timeframe.

Thomas says that in addition to speaking to the president for about 45 seconds regarding his mom’s case the team delivered a letter to Obama written by the wide receiver. He survived and underwent numerous medical procedures, but hasn’t been cleared to resume a football career.

“I will continue to root for the Bears”, he said to laughter.

“Until I’ve gathered all the information and know wholly and confident that I know exactly everything that took place and what’s going on and what’s happening, I don’t want to go there right now”, Kubiak said.
