In the segment, Corden and Miranda sing along to the “Hamilton” soundtrack before picking up Audra McDonald, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Jane Krakowski, who join in singing numbers from “Rent” and “Les Miserables”.
Corden won his Tony Award back in 2012 for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play, after his run in One Man, Two Guvnors.

The 70th annual Tony Awards, hosted by James Corden, will broadcast live from the Beacon Theatre in New York City on June 12 at 8 pm ET on CTV. Corden is a Tony victor himself – he was awarded Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play in 2012 for his performance in “One Man, Two Guvnors”. On his first drive, he invited Mariah Carey who nearly made the late-night host sing solo for the entire auto trip. “She came out and said, ‘Oh, I’m not singing today, ‘ and she went, ‘We’ll just drive around and have a chat, ‘” Corden explained laughing. I went, ‘Right, we think we’re gonna call it Carpool Karaoke. “Ask them to sing along with you”.
