The WWE superstar was granted permission to compete in MMA once more, and is due back in professional wrestling in August, where he’ll appear on one of wrestling’s flagship PPV’s in Summerslam.

UFC shocked us all on Saturday with the announcement of Brock Lesnar returning to the company to fight at the biggest pay-per-view in the promotion’s history. He said his decision to retire from mixed martial arts “has haunted me the last 15 months”. “The Bulgarian Brute” and Lesnar have never faced off in the WWE but he is asking for a fight with “The Beast” in the WWE or UFC. He also won the NCAA Division I heavyweight wrestling championship in 2000 at Minnesota and went to training camp with the Minnesota Vikings as a defensive tackle in 2004, but didn’t make the team.
After Lesnar re-signed with WWE in 2015, he said his legacy in the octagon was over.
However, as time passed Lesnar’s desire to fight again heightened, but he felt he was in a constant battle with his body.
Lesnar’s last appearance in the Octagon, the main event of UFC 141, saw him stopped in the first round by Alistair Overeem and, due to his battle with diverticulitis, Lesnar made a decision to step away from the sport.
Just recently announced, the UFC’s single biggest draw is now back for UFC 200 fighting an undisclosed opponent.
During the UFC 199 broadcast, it was revealed that Lesnar would be returning at the next event.
Lesnar had no say in the opponent.
The 42-year old combat sports veteran will look to add Lesnar’s name to his resume when the two square off at UFC 200 on July 9 in Las Vegas.

Lesnar’s last fight in UFC was in December 2011. He debuted against former champion Mir and lost via submission. Lesnar, the former UFC Heavyweight Champion, has a UFC record of 4-3.
