Hernandez’s fiancee asks Rhode Island court to change her surname, sports gold
James Sultan, one of Hernandez’s lawyer, has said the anonymous woman called him several times after the tight end was convicted in April of first-degree murder.

McCauley said an attempt by Hernandez’s lawyer to question the woman under oath would be an “unwarranted fishing expedition”.
Mention of that case was barred at the Lloyd murder trial. Katy’s dad also knew Hernandez because “the defendant had a relationship with “Katy’s” father while they were inmates together at the Dartmouth House of Corrections”. Prosecutors don’t say. They do add that Katy wrote to Hernandez, but the letters “were subsequently destroyed by the defendant”.
But McCauley said in his filing that the woman wrote Hernandez sexually explicit letters before and during the trial and, believing in his innocence, wanted to continue their relationship after he was released.
In June it was reported that an anonymous tipster had contacted Sultan and alleged that she recognized a specific juror from the post-verdict juror interview and, further, that the juror had been present during a discussion of the double-murder charge against Hernandez from a case unrelated to the death of Odin Lloyd, according to ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio.
Sultan, while acknowledging the woman had considerable contact with Hernandez, believes the woman might have relevant information.
He says she does not work with the juror as she claimed, and her claims should not be taken seriously. Hernandez also used to date Jenkins’ sister, Shaneah.

The Providence Journal reports Shayanna Jenkins appeared Monday in North Providence Probate Court seeking to change her last name to Jenkins-Hernandez. Prisons spokesman Darren Duarte told The Associated Press on Monday there is no record that Hernandez has gotten married or requested to get married.
