Malia Obama Graduates from High School

Friday is also the 15th birthday of Malia’s littler sister, Sasha, who will enter her sophomore year at Sidwell Friends this fall.

They grow up so fast!

On Friday, the Harvard-bound 17-year-old will cross the stage for her high school graduation as her proud parents watch in the audience.

He was accompanied by First Lady Michelle Obama, Malia and his youngest daughter Sasha.

The POTUS, 54, wore a grey suit and dark sunglasses that may have hidden any tears. A milestone has arrived for Obama: Daughter Malia is graduating from high school.

The Obamas have not disclosed plans for her “gap year”, but delaying college could keep her close to her tight-knit family as it prepares for the end of Mr Obama’s presidency in January.

“Malia’s school asked if I wanted to speak at commencement and I said no”, Obama said in Detroit earlier this year. But she’s ready to go. “You want her to come to Vietnam, I shouldn’t be the one to tell her”. Celebrate the president’s youngest daughter with this gallery. Malia’s Spanish studies came in handy earlier this year during Obama’s historic trip to Cuba, when Malia acted as a translator for her dad during dinner at a Havana “paladar”.
