Jacob and Zooey announced their engagement in January after news broke that she was pregnant. Following her nuptials, the star was pestered about whether she desired children.
“We are gonna be surprised”. “It’s more fun”, Deschanel said.
She told Jimmy Kimmel that she didn’t want to know the gender of the baby until it was born. “It’s more fun. Make it into a game!”
Deschanel, 35, and Pechenik, 42, began dating last year after meeting on a movie project.
Zooey was previously married to musician Ben Gibbard, but their divorce was finalised in 2012.
