Red Bull drivers move on from Monaco mishaps
His delay allowed Hamilton to take the lead and the Mercedes driver was able to hold off his opponent to win the race, with the Red Bull man finishing second. Unfortunately, the tyres weren’t accessible at that time and the pit stop has stretched out to an agonizing 13.6 seconds, and when Ricciardo emerged from the pit lane he already lost crucial time and pole position to Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton.

Having expressed his feelings and freed himself of his emotions, Ricciardo said he was ready to bounce back in style this weekend.
“A huge amount of analysis has gone into what’s happened, why it happened, and as with all these things it’s never a straightforward scenario”.
Rosberg won the first four events this year.
“Of course there is disappointment over Monaco but a lot of optimism for the future and the future races”. He will be determined not to let Hamilton eat into any more of his championship advantage and fired up to return to the top step of the podium starting with a maiden Montreal win on Sunday. “Obviously you don’t arrive with these things fresh out of the box”. That leaves one year for a lot of work to be done. It’s been fully calibrated.
“Yes, that it was blown up by the outside surprised us”, he said. It’s doing what it said on the tin.
“At least we know the engine is working well, it can be on pole, which is very good for the people making the engines. So we just keep searching for that performance”. The Briton finally broke his duck for the season with victory in Monaco, reigniting his title defence and ending a winless run stretching back eight races to last October’s US GP.
“The only interest l have is with a world title”, he told Sky Sports, ahead of this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix.
He added: “I don’t think we quite got everything out of it today, but that’s Friday”. But I believe we’ll be the next in line behind Mercedes. “The resources have been built up”, he said.
“You rely on the data from past year, but you were not in the auto so it’s a bit different”. It was just to get some clarity on everything and there’s going to be some new software that they’ve put in for strategy now and some live stuff during the race that can make us more prepared and, if there are some late calls again, that everything is put in place.

Lately Maldonado has been helping Pirelli develop its F1 tyres for 2017, although he has been using the time assess his options as well. “And as far as Monaco is concerned it was a great result but we’ve got odd races, with Monaco, Montreal and an unknown in Baku and I think until we get back into the standard circuits it’s unfair to make a judgement”.
