Is There A Mystery Man Following Arya Stark Around Braavos?
According to the theory, Arya’s personality split after arriving at the den of the Faceless Men – with The Waif representing her killer instinct, bent on destroying what’s left of “Arya Stark” so she could truly become No One.

Here’s HBO’s synopsis for the Sunday, June 12 episode, “No One”: “While Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) weighs his options, Cersei (Lena Headey) answers a request”.
Over in Mereen, “Tyrion’s (Peter Dinklage) plans bear fruit” suggesting he may have made some progress with the slavers while Daenerys has been away.
As far as we can tell, it’s possible that the Faceless Man and Arya are the only ones who can even see the Waif.
Yes, that’s Faye Marsay’s Waif, fresh from her attempted murder of Arya (Maisie Williams) and looking a bit anxious about her future.
In episode 7, Ned Stark’s youngest daughter fails to assassinate Lady Crane and as a outcome, Jaqen H’ghar allows Waif to kill her. However, he also asks her to give the Stark daughter a “humane” death.
Popular Game of Thrones fan site Watchers on the Wall posted new photos from Episode 8 of this season, one of which seems to be a leaked photo. It (probably) wouldn’t work in the Song Of Ice And Fire books, but that doesn’t mean the show can’t deviate from the novels. And “new test” may hint that the incident with the Waif was also just a test.
The theory, first credited to Redditor catNamedStupidity, goes something like this: Arya and the Waif (the girl who trains with her in the House of Black and White) are the same.
However, Arya has a bad wound, and there is a good chance she will die if she does not receive medical attention. The “Game of Thrones” writer has revealed to Entertainment Weekly that this is one of the hardest challenges that Arya Stark has to flee from. Of course, it’s not impossible that someone else is wearing clothes similar to those Syrio was wearing when we last saw him. Arya has finally asked to kill her inner self. After all, while his blue coat makes him a little more recognizable than the rest of the extras, Game Of Thrones isn’t usually this subtle with its set-ups. “She feels like the Faceless Men stand for one thing, but things aren’t quite as black and white, if you pardon the pun, as all that”.
“Game of Thrones” airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.

Could this all have been an elaborate ruse by Arya or are we just clutching at straws here? It was [Jaqen] testing the waif, and by stabbing her in the stomach and not just slashing the throat, she disobeyed orders just like arya did.
