Christina Kim was at 2 over after three holes before rallying on her second nine.
Before her recent run of success, most golf fans know her as one of the contestants on the Golf Channel’s reality show “Big Break: Prince Edward Island”, where she reached the final four in 2009.
Jutanugarn finished at 15-under 273 at Travis Pointe after starting the day with a one-shot edge thanks to a closing eagle in the third-round. That list includes Ariya Jutanugarn, who is seeking her fourth consecutive tournament victory.
But she stumbled to back-to-back bogeys on number four and number five which allowed different players to take turns at making a move on her lead.
“I thought that I could play really well this week and I thought that I was ready, but I just wasn’t”, Park said.
Catriona Matthew carded a best-of-the-day 67 in the second round to charge into contention at the halfway stage in the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Sahalee in Washington.
She hopes to not get too caught up in the moment, however, but also realizes it’s a major championship she’s trying to win. “She’s peaking at the right time”.
Meanwhile, three-time defending champion Park Inbee (72) is tied for 20th along with 17 others.
“It’s just so fast-paced. and it’s so amusing that I went from that, where you’re basically yelling at the other team when you spike it down their throat, to golf, where you have to be very quiet and can’t say anything”. “I am happy I was able to limit my mistakes”, said Miyazato.
The world No. 2 qualified for induction into the LPGA Hall of Fame on Thursday after completing her first round of the season’s second major tournament.
And the 36-hole cut line (top 70 golfers including ties) was at plus-7, highest for any LPGA event his year.
When Lydia Ko won the past two major championships, she was the one lurking behind. “The last month for me was quite a tough time, I had no guarantee I was going to play all the way today”. The South Korean settles for par, and a piece of fourth place. She was the only player in the morning session to post a round in the 60s.
She has improvised adroitly, relying on her athletic instincts and hitting a fade that has her within a whisker of the lead through three days. Ko put herself in poor position off the tee on the 16th, but a flop shot out of the rough to 4 feet allowed her to save par.
Henderson, an 18-year-old Canadian, shot 2-over -par 73 to go with her 4-under 67 Thursday. “I was a pitcher and catcher”, she said.
As Jutanugarn walked off ninth green, she stopped to shake the hand of Army specialist Zachary Loughrige, who was tending the US flag that was used in hole. Bogeys on Nos. 8 and 18 were the only blemishes on Lee’s scorecard, and the well-rounded effort should stoke her confidence as the weekend approaches. 13, 14 and 16, earning a five-shot cushion at 14 under.

“I do feel like winning is definitely close”, Piller said.
