Police Chief John Mina says that investigators are going through the Loibl’s computer, phone, and other belongings to identify any motive.

Grimmie, 22, was signing autographs late Friday after a show at the The Plaza Live theater when a man approached and opened fire, police spokeswoman Wanda Miglio said.

Celebrity tributes have been shared across social media for Christina, who was mentored by Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine. She continued to say that Christina met the gunman with: “her arms open wide ready to greet him, as she would any of her other friends with such enthusiasm” before she heard “three popping noises”.

Police credit Marcus’ heroic actions for preventing the gunman from hurting others.

Adam Levine, the singer whose team she performed with on the program, posted a picture of himself with her on his Instagram account after the incident when the singer was taken wounded but still alive to the hospital.

“We believe he came here to commit this crime”, Mina said.

Although the bags and purses of concertgoers were checked for weapons at the venue, there were no metal detectors or body searches at the entrance and the hall’s security guards were unarmed. He had two loaded handguns, additional ammunition and a hunting knife at the time of the shooting, police said.

“Christina was a talented young artist and we know that her fans and supporters want as much information as possible”.

Usher, who also coached on the series, added: “To an awesome soul and voice… may your legacy live on forever”.
