The driver ran a red light and hit a Nissan making a left turn, police said. An accident between a auto going through an intersection and another vehicle making a left hand turn sent one auto careening into a group on the sidewalk.

The five injured pedestrians were taken to University Medical Center trauma center, where two children were listed in critical but stable condition, police said.

Police said the suspect fled the second scene as well but was later found less than two miles away and taken into custody.

Las Vegas Metro police tell the TV stations that drivers should expect traffic restrictions in the area while investigators are at the scene. The two children are in critical condition, one adult is in serious condition, and another adult is now being evaluated, News3 reported.

The suspect drove off, leaving a bumper and license plate at the scene.

No fatalities have been confirmed.

Police say the driver of the other auto and a passenger also had minor injuries.
