Quake Champions announced for PC, features 120hz, unlocked frame rates

Expect more news in August at Quakecon.

Quake Champions is a competitive arena-style FPS for PC. Champions will be “fast” and have fantastic graphics running at “120hz with unlocked framerates”. So we will certainly be keen to learn more details on this game when that event arrives. While the games included single-player campaigns, the franchise became known for its multiplayer side. Plus, the news that it’s being built to take advantage of modern PC hardware was welcome news. Their brand new DOOM successfully revitalised one of the granddaddies of the shooter RPG, and now they’re doing it again. The Doom team said it was a nod to the “shareware” era the original game comes from.

A release date for Quake Champions wasn’t announced. The developers claim it is a first for MMOs.

As far as Bethesda’s concerned, Quake’s legacy isn’t over quite yet.

Fallout 4 is coming to VR in 2017.

Bethesda wasted no time throwing surprises at us during their E3 2016 conference with Quake Champions being shown right away. The game is looking gorgeous.
