Von Miller reportedly isn’t ready to accept the Broncos’ giant contract offer

The on-going contract situation between the Denver Broncos and Super Bowl MVP defensive end Von Miller just got even more interesting, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter has reported that the Broncos have proposed a six-year, $114 million contract to Von Miller and his team of representatives.

The Broncos and Miller have until July 15 to agree to a long-term extension or have Miller play 2016 under the franchise tag.

Miller said during a White House press conference Monday that “real progress” had been made in contract negotiations in recent days.

Talib had to miss the Super Bowl champs’ visit to the White House on Monday after getting shot in Dallas, where he has an offseason home, early Sunday.

Klis also reports issues with Ryan Clady and Demaryius Thomas created the impetus for Miller’s moved-up deadline (teams have until July 15 to sign franchise-tag players). Kubiak said that Talib would likely be evaluated by team medical personnel, including head trainer Steve Antonopulos, when the cornerback makes his expected return to Denver on Wednesday.

Miller has spent his entire five-year NFL career in Denver after being the No. 2 overall pick by the Broncos out of Texas A&M in the 2011 NFL Draft behind only former Auburn Tigers quarterback Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers.

“This was my first time going to Washington, D.C.”, Jackson said.

Miller finished the 2015 regular season with 11 sacks and helped led the Broncos to the Super Bowl 50 championship by wreaking havoc on defense. Justin Houston’s extension past year with the Kansas City Chiefs included 52 percent guaranteed cash, whereas this current offer would amount to 35 percent, as pointed out by Benjamin Albright of CBS Sports.

Talib signed a six-year, $57 million contract with the Broncos in 2014 that includes $25.5 million in guarantees. “All those people I’ve told the past 18 years, “Hey I can’t do that I have practice that day, they all know that and, “Hey, I know you’re available and you promised to come play in my tournament or you promised to come to my charity event”.

“I’m very anxious”, Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said of Miller’s impending arrival. “We’ll give him the entire summer to make sure he’s feeling good before we get him back out there”, Kubiak said.
