“I think having a fighter in the lead, a female fighter in the lead, is exactly what this country needs”, Warren said on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show”.
Obama had been expected to support Clinton since she won enough delegates this week to become the first woman to lead a major U.S. party as its presidential nominee.
While many in Washington, such as Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada), are pushing for a Clinton-Warren ticket, Hillary’s own campaign surrogate said that he doesn’t think that Warren has the qualifications to be Vice President. The senator attended the group’s gala dinner at the Capital Hilton in Washington.
“I am ready to get in this fight and work my heart out for Hillary Clinton to become the next president of the United States and to make sure that Donald Trump never gets anyplace close to the White House”, the MA senator said on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show”.
“I am ready to get in this fight and work my heart out for Hillary Clinton to become the next president of the United States”, she said. She’s a fighter. She’s out there.
The Warren meeting on Friday fuelled speculation that the senator from MA might be under consideration as Clinton’s running mate.
But it also triggered ferocious comebacks from her critics over use of a private email account while she served as America’s top diplomat – a scandal she has been unable to shake. “He was rooting for an economic crash, because he could make money at it”.
Host of CBS’s Evening News, Scott Pelley also had glowing things to add about the president’s endorsement saying, “Today President Obama passed the torch to the person he hopes will succeed him”.
