Authorities said Saturday, June 11, 2016, Loibl has been identified as the gunman who shot and killed Christina Grimmie, a singer who rose to fame after.

Unfortunately, it was just a matter of hours before Levine and Prinsloo found out that Grimmie, who was a contestant on music competition The Voice, was shot dead at a concert in Orlando, Florida.

Reportedly there are security measures in place at the theater, but no metal detectors are present and concert attendees are not, reportedly, patted down on entry.

Police said in a news release that the 22-year-old singer had performed with the band Before You Exit at The Plaza Live in Orlando.

The Voice alum Christina Grimmie’s brother Marcus (Mark) posted a tribute to his sister on Saturday, a day after she was fatally shot after her concert in Florida. “It’s just that she had faith and I don’t really understand how this really happened, but I would like to dedicate this song to her”.

“One thing about Christina … is that she holds her faith so closely to her”, she said.

Gomez’s stepfather, Brian Teefey, discovered Grimmie on YouTube when she was still in high school.

She is now being remembered with an outpouring of condolences on social media.

A spokeswoman said all events at the venue had been suspended until further notice.

She wrote: “Today the world was reminded that there is no love quite like that between an older brother and his little sister”. “We lost a handsome soul with an incredible voice”.

The Orlando Police Department also confirmed on its official Twitter page that Grimmie had died.
