E3 2016: The Witcher’s Gwent standalone game announced
CD Projekt Red has been working on a Gwent card game for the past year, after they realized people were sitting in Witcher 3 taverns and just playing cards. The game will be a Standalone multiplayer experience with Crossplay features that will allow gamers to connect with people from all around the world.

Join in The Witcher universe’s favorite card game! The standalone card game is officially known as Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, and while it doesn’t have a concrete release date yet, a closed beta test is set for September. “We’ve taken all that heart and energy you gave us and put it into GWENT”, continues Iwi?ski.
It looks to have had a complete overhaul of how it looks to what it does in The Witcher 3 which you can see in the trailer that came with the announcement. If you hadn’t tried it yet, there’s no better time.

There will also be multiple modes to choose from; if you want to play against AI you can, if you rather enter the professional league, you could play ranked battles.
