Let’s just start with the big reveal, which came right off the bat in this episode’s cold open: Ian McShane made his Game of Thrones debut, in his juiciest role since he played a serial-killing Santa Claus in American Horror Story. For the uninitiated Arya has been stabbed by Waif, while she was eyeing her journey outside Braavos.

According to Independent UK, episode 06X08 will possibly see the end of Arya’s training to become a faceless assassin.

The thinking is that the somewhat-zombified Mountain would be named as Cersei’s champion in her trial by combat for her various sins, with the Hound named as The High Sparrow and the Faith’s champion accordingly. Lancel says “Order your man to step aside or there will be violence” to which Cersei replies “I choose violence”. More importantly, we finally get confirmation that Yara is a lesbian as she enjoys the company of a female prostitute.

It is presumed that Sansa is springing Petyr Baelish a.k.a. Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) into action, even as he had left her to suffer in the hands of madman Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon). However, Arya is still heavily bleeding as she gets off on a shore and enters the city looking for cure. Under the cover of night we see Jaime and his army approaching the castle. In that group was an enormous gravedigger with a noticeable limp, whom many fans believe is the Hound nursed back to health. After his meeting with Black Fish, Jaime appears to be beaten and knows that he is fighting a battle that he can’t win, and with Brienne heading to House Tully, it wouldn’t be too farfetched for him to make a bold statement of intent. It felt like a disservice to the character, and only there to see her wounded. Maybe she escapes Riverrun? Tyrion’s (Peter Dinklage) plans bear fruit. Could we be in for some more dragons?

Arya and the Waif Are the Same Person. Yara plans to join forces with Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) at some stage, but in this episode of Game of Thrones, she manages to get the old Theon back.

Check back during the week as we’ll update this preview with new information as it’s released.
