Samsung May Release Bendable Smartphones By Early Next Year

The company has already given the world some incredible creations in the field of bend or curved displays, such as the edge on the Galaxy Note Edge or the curved screen on its latest fitness wristband, the Gear Fit 2.

It seems that Samsung as managed to surmount the technological hurdles surrounding making such a device, including making the screen robust, yet flexible, enough to withstand daily rigors.

The second device is said to have a 5-inch form factor when used as a phone, which can then be unfolded, turning it into a larger tablet, with a display around 8 inches in size. The manufacturer showcased its Youm technology for bendable displays in 2013, when rumors suggested the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 might feature a flexible display.

There’s been speculation for quite some time that major tech companies are making the switch from liquid crystal display (LCD) screens to organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screens to make their phones thinner, displays brighter, and batteries last longer-lasting.

Samsung Galaxy Skin was a fake concept which surfaced in 2011.

The report, which cites the ubiquitous “people familiar with the matter”, says both devices will sport OLED screens. Also it’s other great competitor Apple is planning that next year they will renovate their iPhones and bring a bezel less design, along with Oled displays.

The smartphones, codenamed “Project Valley”, apparently won’t launch under Samsung’s usual “Galaxy S” brand, so don’t expect to be able to fold up the Galaxy S8 and shove it in your pocket.

“Next year is a probable scenario”.

Well, obviously, consumers will not really be burdened with the name of the new Samsung Galaxy Note.

In the past month, many were suggesting that the up-and-coming Samsung Galaxy Note might arrive in the US later in August this year.

“This product could be a game-changer if Samsung successfully comes up with a user interface suitable for bendable screens,”Lee Seung Woo, IBK Securities analyst, told Bloomberg”. The Galaxy Note 6 or Galaxy Note 7 will be the first Samsung device to adapt the USB-Type C port.
