Resident Evil 7 Gets Release Date, Virtual Reality

This is a huge shift for the series by going from third person shooter to a first person survival horror game. Sony also announced that the title will be fully compatible with the Playstation VR platform. It won’t be too long of a wait, either: it’s out January 24, 2017 for both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well as the PC.

Meanwhile if you’re interested in getting your hands on “Resident Evil 7”, it would appear that Sony is releasing a demo for it tonight for Playstation Plus members. Can they make it out alive?

There has been a lot of chatter recently when it came to Capcom’s crown jewel of the survival-horror genre, Resident Evil 7.

Virtual Reality may just be the worst way to experience Resident Evil.

Resident Evil VII was announced during Sony’s press conference to cheers from the crowd.

In fact, many are waiting for the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 event, which will run from June 14 to 16, as it is expected that the game will be unveiled to the public for the first time.

Finally, Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 15 revealed a PSVR compatible virtual reality “experience” which will ship with the game on 30 September and see you both riding in a auto through the game’s handsome world and fighting evil monsters – because of course.

According to the official blurb the game is set in “rural America” and “leverages its roots and opens the door to a truly terrifying horror experience”. Capcom maintains operations in the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, Germany, Tokyo, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Korea, with corporate headquarters located in Osaka, Japan. “No Resident Evil you’ve ever survived could prepare you for this”.
