Shooting at Dallas Love Field Aiport baggage claim triggers lockdown
Assistant Dallas Police Chief Randall Blankenbaker says a man was using rocks to attack a woman in a vehicle at Dallas Love Field on Friday afternoon when an officer responded to the incident.

The person who shot the video, Bryan Armstrong, claims that the suspect had a rock in his hand and refused to cooperate with officers, which led to the shooting.
The officer “separated from that individual, but that man came toward him again, so he discharged his weapon several times”, Blankenbaker said.
The incident occurred near a baggage claim area at street level.
After the sound of gunshots, a male voice can be heard shouting, “Stay down, stay down!” He was arrested Thursday in the Dallas suburb of Carrollton and charged with criminal mischief after destroying city-owned trees valued at $3,700 by driving recklessly, Carrollton police spokeswoman Jolene DeVito said.
CBS News reported a suspect was taken to the hospital. They say they’re working with air traffic controllers nationwide to manage inbound flights. Almost 12 hours later, Dallas Police Chief David Brown said he believes it was justified.
She says the man was yelling at the officer, “basically saying ‘shoot me, shoot me, I dare you, ‘ something to that effect”. Once at the airport, she can be seen removing his bags from her auto. When police ordered him to stop, he allegedly lunged at officers.
Within an hour, the airport tweeted that lines through security were “moving fast”, but there remained many departure delays.

This photo released by the Carrollton Police Department shows Shawn Nicholas Diamond. The police chief defended the tactics used by the officer as “quite appropriate” and said the surveillance footage told the story.
Dallas police and airport officials did not immediately respond to requests for details from The Associated Press.
Contrary to initial reports, Love Field was not shut down during or after the incident.
