Diamond was transported to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition, police said. Police said the suspect appeared to be the father of the woman’s children.
The incident occurred near a baggage claim area at street level. He, along with his ex-girlfriend, arrived at the airport shortly after his release from jail.
Police said Diamond’s ex-girlfriend was dropping him off at the airport when he began pummeling her auto with a traffic cone and large rocks.
The woman told police that her ex-boyfriend had “become angry and struck her” earlier in the day, Brown said.
Planes were still landing at Love Field in the wake of the shooting, but no flights were taking off from the north Dallas airport.
There will be a formal investigation into the officer’s use of force, and these videos will be at the heart of it – capturing every step and gunshot from above and on the ground. The sounds of repeated and multiple shots fired are clearly heard.
He then picked up rocks used for landscaping and began hurling them at the vehicle. When police ordered him to stop, he allegedly lunged at officers.

Nine shots can be heard on a video of the incident posted to Instagram by Armstrong. He said Diamond was heard telling the officer, “You’re going to have to shoot”.
The front driver window and rear windshield of the auto all appeared to have been completely shattered.

The shooting temporarily shut down the airport, forcing security to clear the terminal and send about 6,000 passengers through security again.
