India, Pak trade heavy fire at border outpost in Jammu district

Yes, this about a regular feature witnessed along the Indo-Pak global border and the Line of Control (LoC) in the state of Jammu and Kashmir where firing by the Pakistan forces has become a matter of routine.

Indian and Pakistani troops exchanged heavy fire overnight after Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire in four sectors along the LoC and opened fire on several forward posts in Jammu and Poonch districts.

Following this, the Indian army retaliated the firing, which went on till today morning.

While Krishnagati and Mandi sectors fall in Poonch, Balakote and Pallanwala are in Rajouri and Jammu respectively. The incidents of firing alongside the border were disturbing their lives and affecting their livelihood, they said.

Yesterday, Pakistani Rangers “violated the ceasefire” by resorting to small arms firing and mortar shelling on 23 BoPs along the IB in Akhnoor sector in Jammu district, drawing retaliation from the BSF. Since July last, there have been over 20 incidents of ceasefire violation in which four people including three jawans were killed and 14 others injured.
