Thursday’s endorsement increases pressure on Sanders, a USA senator from Vermont, to concede the race so the party can focus on campaigning against Donald Trump, the Republican presumptive nominee for the November 8 election.
In an April interview, Jane Sanders, the wife of Bernie Sanders, hinted at the need for party unity and said she thought that when either Clinton or Sanders became the party’s official presidential nominee, the other Democrat would support the victor. “I’m fired up and ready to go!” she tweeted, echoing one of Obama’s own campaign rallying cries from 2008.
Warren would likely boost Clinton’s support among supporters of Bernie Sanders, some of whom have indicated a reluctance to back Clinton.
Hours after Hillary Clinton received President Barack Obama’s endorsement Thursday, an arguablyeven more talked-about announcement happened live on MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show”.
The ad also previews the case that Clinton will make against Trump as she campaigns this week in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, where President Obama is set to appear by her side.
Sanders emphasized the importance of the Democratic platform in his interview with CBS’ John Dickerson, signaling that he’s looking for concessions there in order to avoid a contested convention.
“I’m with her. I’m fired up and I can not wait to get out there and campaign with Hillary”, Obama said.
The Vermont senator was at the White House for discussions on how to heal rifts in the Democratic party after a testy primary campaign, and head united into the looming showdown with the presumptive Republican nominee. Elizabeth Warren to respond to Clinton loyalist Ed Rendell saying she is not a good choice for vice president because she isn’t ready to be commander in chief.
Sanders told his defiant supporters that “the struggle continues” Tuesday, even after crushing defeats to Clinton in California and New Jersey. But you know, I can’t help you. According to Federal Election Commission rules, donors can now give $100,200 to the convention account and $100,200 to the DNC’s headquarters account, two accounts the Clinton campaign had not raised money for before.

“Hillary will bring hundreds of thousands of refugees, many of whom have hostile beliefs about people of different faiths and values and some of whom absolutely and openly support terrorism in our country”, he claimed.
