LeBron James powered the sharpshooting Cleveland Cavaliers to a season-saving 112-97 win over the defending champion Golden State Warriors on Monday to climb within 3-2 in the best-of-seven NBA Finals.

Draymond Green didn’t play 2. Lebron James and KyrieIrving played very confident which will be huge going into game 6 in Cleveland. He needs to avoid letting his temper get the best of him.

“It’s probably one of the greatest performances I’ve ever seen live”, James said. Love disappeared in Game 5, scoring just two points. “And they had two great games, two breakout games”.

The Cavaliers, facing elimination at the hands of the top-seeded Warriors, got 41 points each from James and Kyrie Irving and displayed a tenacious defense to set up another do-or-die game for the Cavaliers on Thursday in Cleveland.

They combined for 82 points, and unlike in Game 4 when Irving and James took a majority of the shots and lost, the two stars had a major impact on the game. Warriors coach Steve Kerr has mentioned, “We had to make up our mind that we would be filling his absence collectively as it can not be possible for him alone to steer the pace of the game”.

Four flagrant foul “points” in the postseason results in a suspension. He was assessed a retroactive Flagrant-1 for his swipe at James in the fourth quarter of Friday’s Game 4. The teams were level at 61-61 at half-time before the Cavaliers pulled away in the third-quarter.

In addition to his scoring prowess, James collected 16 rebounds, including four on the offensive end of the floor, handed out seven assists, stole three passes and blocked three shots.

Overall, the Cavaliers scored 42 points on 17-of-25 (68 percent) shooting off drives in Game 5. “So we’re in a good spot”.

“We tried a lot of different people”, Kerr said. “It was one of those nights”. In the third period, the Warriors shot just 29 percent from outside, then followed that up with even worse numbers by connecting at just a 24 percent clip in the fourth quarter. “Learning how to curb that is something we all had to do, and he had to do in college and he’s going to have to do it a little bit more”, Izzo said on ESPN.

“The trust factor was just a big thing”, Irving said. Bogut rotated over and rejected the layup of a driving J.R. Smith, but the collision left him in pain below the basket, grabbing his left knee in obvious pain.
