HTC One M9 Android 5.1 Now Available For Worldwide Users
Hence, speculations are rife that the Taiwanese tech giant may roll out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update very soon for the users of 2015’s flagship before the Android M is officially made available.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 flagship has received the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update a while ago, and while this should be a reason for celebration, the update brought about numerous issues, basically ruining the user experience for the device’s owners. This update also resolves the recently disclosed “Stagefright” Android security vulnerability.
If you do happen to own an EMEA HTC One M9 then you can expect a good amount of improvements with the Android 5.1 Lollipop update. We’ll keep an eye out on progress on this one and keep you updated. Even the developer edition units of the HTC One M9 have also received the update in June.
The Android 5.1 OTA Update has the software version set at 2.10.401.1 and it measures somewhere around 800 MB, so you should use a Wi-Fi connection in order to download it, as you wouldn’t want to go over your mobile data plan. This update, unfortunately, is a tad bit late hitting the M9s in these markets as the same update has already been rolled out to the M9 on nearly all 4 of the major US carriers as well as the global variant. Garaham Wheeler, the product and service director of EMEA tweeted HTC One M9 users in European countries, the Middle East and the Africa are going to receive Android 5.1 Tuesday.
The HTC One M9 proved to be quite a disappointment for the company, so much so that the Taiwanese device maker had to apologize to investors for the phone’s poor performance.
