If you’d like to pay tribute to the victims of the Orlando shooting, there will be a candlelight vigil in Bangor Monday night.
A Cincinnati LGBTQ nightclub will host a gathering Monday after Sunday’s mass shooting in Orlando.
James Miller, director of the LGBT Center of Raleigh, said the nightclub shooting hit close to his heart.
“We are asking that you come down to show support for others that are still waiting to hear from family members and friends who were targeted at Pulse, and to honor the lives that were taken from our community”, the event listing states.
“It was a black church in SC, it’s a white school in CT, it’s a gay club in Orlando – it’s everybody”, Hessel said.
“It’s a traumatizing and emotional time for a many people”, she added.
Vigils are being held across the state as well.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the victims who were killed or injured in this senseless and horrific attack”, said Governor LePage.
Hundreds gathered, holding hands and praying for peace.
“America is a nation of immigrants, and she welcomes people who want to become Americans, which includes accepting our laws and freedoms and a commitment to not seek the overthrow of our political system by violent means”, Land said, quoting President Theodore Roosevelt.
“People are feeling that this is a step back and they’re afraid, but they are also understanding that we can not allow this fear to silence us”, Jean said.
