Apple iPhone 7 may have a capacitive Home key

Even though such leaks are to be taken with a grain of salt, the probability of a touch-sensitive home button is high.

On Android phones like the OnePlus 3, HTC 10 and Nexus 6P, the fingerprint sensors unlock with a touch – no press required.

What could this change mean for the iPhone 7? We are a bit suspicious especially since it does look a little odd, plus there have been no rumors or any indication to suggest that this is the case, and we’ve pretty much heard every iPhone 7 rumor that has come out of the rumor mill since. Namely, it’s thinner and it sports less offensive antenna lines.

Isn’t it odd enough that most of the leaked iPhone 7 images have only shown the rear part of the device?

But around front, things may be an entirely different story.

There’s no guarantee that the snap or supplied information is accurate, but there’s been a lot of talk recently about Apple’s future plans for its Touch ID sensor and home button. This, the source claims, “might be significantly smoother and faster due to this change”.

The image shows a tweaked Home Button that appears to be flat with the bezel, meaning Apple will drop the physical click in favor of a fully touch-sensitive capacitive Home Button.

The iPhone 7 might be the first big step toward realizing that goal. The photos, on the website mobipicker.com, show that the iPhone 7 may come up with a touch-sensitive home button.

With reports stating that early iPhone 7 production is already underway, we probably won’t have to wait long before this rumor is either corroborated or disproven by subsequent leaks.
