-Nov. 20: After the Chiefs’ 24-20 loss to the Raiders in a Thursday night game in Oakland, Berry feels a great deal of discomfort in his chest.

On June 22, Berry was considered cancer free.

We’ll be hearing from Berry this afternoon. “It just hit him”. He was cleared to take the field late in the day. We can’t look ahead and say what the future holds. “I just tried to wake up every day and just build off whatever I did the day before”. “This is the time now for you to look after you”. “It was a battle every day”, Berry said. “I would literally stay in bed all day”. But he never lost sight of an audacious goal: be back with Kansas City by the time its season opens September 13 in Houston. “I have two cancer survivors in my family as well, my aunties”.

Lemieux was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1993, went through a similar course of treatment and returned to finish his career. Beyond that, Berry and the team have been reluctant to reveal details of his treatment.

But that didn’t dissuade him from pressing forward. “I couldn’t push myself like I wanted to”.

The first overall pick by Miami in 2008 and a four-time Pro Bowler, Long missed nine games last season in St. Louis with a second torn ACL in two years.

He is quoted as saying by NFL Media: “It was tough”. Carol printed and framed signs around the house warning people not to walk in if they carried any negative energy. “Just because it’s not a cloudy day doesn’t mean the sun is not shining”.

New York Jets defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson will report to the practice facility on Wednesday with the rest of his teammates despite being unhappy with his contract, according to a person familiar with his plans. Collectively, we were just anxious about the person.

Berry told his teammates about his lymphoma diagnosis. As Berry and Abdullah met in the middle of the field, Abdullah lowered his head to help make the tackle onMarcel Reece and instead of hitting him, he collided with Eric Berry instead. “We didn’t have him do team (drills)”. “We’d talk in depth”.

“That prepared me for everything I needed to know”.

“I was training while doing chemo. I would be scared to go to sleep, and then I was like forget it. If I don’t wake up, then I don’t wake up”. Now the 26-year-old can get back to his career with a greater appreciation for the process of life and football, even dreaded meetings.

He communicated regularly with Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano, who had his own battle several years ago with leukemia.

OXNARD, Calif. – Dallas defensive lineman Jeremy Mincey hasn’t shown up for training camp, and executive vice president Stephen Jones said the Cowboys won’t discuss a new contract with him until he does.

“That’s why I wouldn’t change the process for anything”. “I’m excited to be back on the field”. My whole thing was that it’s going to be what it’s going to be. It was cool, man. “He has really done a good job there”. “It hasn’t been like that since high school”.

While at Tennessee, Berry was clearly a leader. “That’s his attitude, and that’s what drove him through this”.

“There were times where I would work out and I’d be crying after the workout”, said Berry, who continued to work out during his chemotherapy.
