Chief Judge Orders Aregbesola To Make Osun’s Debt Profile Public

Daily Trust learnt that the students who were allegedly children of some Christian clerics wore the clothes in line with the directive of the Osun State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria.

The Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo, has granted an order of mandamus compelling Governor Rauf Aregbesola to provide necessary information in respect of the state’s debt profile and its defrayment modality.

Students created scenes in two schools in Osun state as they appeared in church garments.

The governor said this in Ibokun on Tuesday while speaking at the inauguration of St. Michael Middle School.

However, Governor Aregbesola said students who wore unauthorised cloths to any public schools in the State would be expelled henceforth.

Aside Baptist High School, Iwo, students in other schools across the state dressed in their regular school uniforms.

Olagoke, a catechist and head of Catholic bloc in the Iwo unit of CAN, said if Muslims were allowed to wear hijab to propagate Islam in schools founded by Christian missionaries, it would also be appropriate for Christian pupils to wear religious garments to schools.

He also advised those aggrieved with the court judgement to channel their grievances according to the rule of law.

Teachers were on duty teaching the students as usual without distraction.

Ajibola asked the court to compel Aregbesola to provide the list of all capital projects being executed by his government since November 26, 2015.

“I believe also that parents and society should complement the government in shaping the minds of the pupils to be receptive to knowledge and godly character formation; to be sensitive to the need of others, the plurality of our society and the imperative of mutual toleration”.
