For now, police are still baffled as to the motives of Loibl as his computer records and other personal effects didn’t really show traces that would lead them to believe that he was targeting Christina Grimmie, who died hours later at the hospital.
Christina – who appeared on season six of “The Voice USA” – first found fame as a teenager for her renditions of hit songs, which led to her developing a huge following on YouTube. He had traveled across the state to Orlando’s The Plaza Live theater with two handguns and a hunting knife in tow.
The funeral for Christina Grimmie has been scheduled for Friday in her home state of New Jersey, a week after she was murdered while signing autographs following a concert performance in Orlando, Florida.
Hundreds of residents and fans gathered at a candlelight vigil for Grimmie on Monday night, held at the township’s municipal sports complex.
“She loved this town”, her brother Marcus Grimmie told the crowd.
Marcus also took the time to thank her fans for their continuing support, teling them: ‘Thank you to everyone once again.
As reported on Blasting News, her killer was identified as 27-year-old Kevin James Loibl of St. Petersburg, Fl.
He said: “Behati [Prinsloo] and I are absolutely devastated and heartbroken by Christina Grimmie’s tragic death”.
Marcus added that “words can not express” how much the generosity of those who donated means to his family.

Christina’s closest friends, Pete Innaurato, Lauren Longo and Sarah Luebkemann also shared fond memories with the former YouTuber, saying that she put “family, friends, and the Lord” ahead of everything else. Christina was a natural, a gifted talent that comes along so rarely. Christina later became a star on YouTube and finally became well known and popular for her appearances on the NBC show “The Voice” two years ago where she finished in third place.
