So we don’t have to wallow in the despair of crushed excitement for too long as a statement by Apple confirms this “Support for rich notifications is optimized for 3D Touch, and in iOS 10 beta 1 the feature is available only on iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus”.
By unbundling these apps from the operating system, it’s possible that Apple could push updates to the apps more quickly since updates can be pushed through the App Store and don’t require an OS update.
