“This is a place where we’re tackling big issues”, she added.
Trippi has worked for a number of Democratic presidential candidates, while Maslin’s clients include Gov. Jerry Brown and members of Congress. Shallman has worked for the president of the California Senate, who spearheaded passage of a law requiring colleges and universities to apply a “yes means yes” standard in sexual misconduct cases. He does not understand violence against women. He’ll probably be out in a few weeks.
Judge Aaron Persky has drawn criticism for sentencing Brock Turner to only six months in jail.
At the sentencing hearing last Thursday, prosecutors said they wanted Turner to serve six years in prison. Once seen as a future Olympian, Turner has also been banned for life by USA Swimming. Carleen Turner’s letter does not mention the victim. Judge Persky said that he felt the convicted rapist’s age and lack of a criminal record warranted a six-month sentence, probation and requirement to register as a sex offender.
Over the weekend, Dauber was responsible for tweeting portions of the probation pre-sentence report containing a statement attributed to Brock’s father, Dan Turner, who pleaded for leniency, saying the verdict had “broken and shattered” his son.
The group has hired a plane to fly over Stanford Stadium until 15 minutes before the ceremony starts with a banner reading “Protect Survivors”.
In photos and phone messages, Turner appears to be holding a pipe for smoking marijuana, as well as talking about drinking and buying drugs. Perhaps his swim team buddies?
According to court documents obtained by Daily Mail Online, police suspect that the 20-year-old blasted the image to his buddies using a group messaging app. The first person to respond was teammate Justin Buck.
“I have daughters in college myself, and I find it deeply disturbing that a judge like Persky could let a campus predator like Turner off with barely a slap on the wrist. I’ve heard it’s awesome”.
“I beg of you, please don’t send him to jail/prison”. To which Turner replied, “Yeah kind of. But when we finally did we could only drink for like an hour an a half”.
“It had been said that due to his calm demeanor, he did not care that this was happening to him, that he intentionally did this, which is simply not the case, he is just very good at being and seeming relaxed”, she wrote.

The victim’s sister also said Turner had been aggressive toward her the night of the assault, according to her account of the night to police, which was also made public yesterday. One week before at another party, he “creeped out” a woman he tried to grab.
