Ultimate Frisbee recognized by worldwide Olympic Committee

To be officially recognised by the IOC the WFDF needed to fulfill a strict criteria including having 62 national federations and gender equality.
WFDF president Robert Rauch expressed his happiness, saying it was an incredible milestone in the 30-year history of WFDF and a further important step for their global federation in the development of their sport worldwide, Sport24 reported.
The sport most known for being that weird frisbee thing those guys are playing at the park now has the opportunity to be played on the biggest stage in the world.
The recognition does not, however, guarantee ultimate Frisbee will be included in the next Olympic Games.
The WFDF oversees other disc-based sports, too, like Disc Golf and Freestyle. An even worse sign for ultimate’s chances is that baseball and softball were voted out of the Olympics after the 2008 Games in Beijing.

Ultimate Frisbee is a non-contact, team sport played with no referees and a flying disc. The game is played on a large field with an end zone for each team, which consists of seven players. If the games could include club swinging in the past and race walking in the present, why not frisbee in the future?
