Bale plays star role in battle of Britain
England manager Roy Hodgson later responded to Bale’s statement, describing the player as “disrespectful”, while midfielder Jack Wilshere also had his say, but the Welshman sees no problem with what he said.

Although much of the play was in the Welsh half, England was not threatening at all.
He said: “I don’t really like to comment on what other people say, we are perfectly satisfied with the passion we bring to our games, we certainly don’t have any doubts about our passion, desire, our commitment, our wish to do well in the tournament”. I’m sure they’ll have a lot to think about for our team as well. I know Bale is a galactico and he’s the main man, but Williams is the heartbeat.
Today’s Group B match was one of five classed as high risk by French authorities due to concerns about potential clashes between rival fans.
Jamie Carragher thinks Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy could start against Slovakia after both scoring in England’s 2-1 win over Wales at Euro 2016 on Thursday.
England captain Wayne Rooney produced a sharp turn of foot yesterday when asked how many Wales players would get into his team.
But he says there is no case of split loyalties, with his family all cheering for Wales.
Sturridge said he was just happy to have got on the field and grab the victor.
It hasn’t been the best of starts for Leicester players at Euro 2016, but King and his Wales teammates have had early success in Group B and are channeling their inner Leicester to make a run to the elimination stages.
“That adds spice and interest”, said Hodgson, whose team drew 1-1 with Russian Federation in their opening Group B game.
Wales manager Chris Coleman highlighted Gareth Bale’s potential to earn his side a victory over England, saying the forward can “change a game in an instant”.
He ended his press conference as he summed up his viewpoint on the group explaining that “it’s three games and whatever way you look at it, you’ve got to look after your own business and that’s how we see it”. He scored a great free-kick and had a couple of good chances playing in the number nine role. “We didn’t want the circus that comes with England”.
“And we can’t be afraid to give our opinions”.
“We’ve got to be hard to beat”, he said.
“That’s normal. You always get it. [Slovakia] had a nice nibble on Saturday”, the Real Madrid star said.
