MTV has also released an official synposis for episode 8, which reads: “Scott and Malia are going to set out to rescue their captured friends, and Deaton will make a horrific discovery about the Dread Doctors”. When they enter a classroom, Mr. Yukimura leaves her daughter alone to take another box from the vehicle.
Noshiko gives Kira a sword and orders her to defend herself.
Then, Noshiko, Kira’s 900-year-old Kitsune mother, suddenly attacks Kira from behind with a sword.
A synopsis for the segment titled “Strange Frequencies” was shared by the network (via worldwide Business Times) and it featured a heart-pounding altercation between Kira and her mother (Tamlyn Tomita). Kira asks as she attempts to avoid every swing of her mom’s sword.
“Not you, the fox inside you”, her mom clarifies.
After the near fatality, Kira is now left to recollect as she confides to her boyfriend Scott (Tyler Posey) and figure out what’s going on inside her before she tries to help anybody else. However, Kira’s mom explains that it is not Kira who could have killer her but the fox inside her daughter. An out of control member of the pack, like Kira, could also cause trouble in Scott’s plan.

This season feels a lot like Teen Wolf decided to go with possibly the most high-concept premise they’ve ever had, only to consistently fail to pull it off. They succeed at building tension and invoking an old-school horror atmosphere (almost verging on slasher at some points this season), but have no idea what to do with the villains, or even some of their main characters. Her storyline reeks of just giving her more powers to add confict to her and Scott’s relationship – despite never mentioning these powers beforehand.
