PREMIER LEAGUE FIXTURES: Mourinho and Guardiola to clash first on September 10

The Premier League season starts on the weekend of August 13. And there are some mouthwatering clashes on the first two days of the season to look forward to.

Liverpool have been handed a hard start to their first full campaign under Jurgen Klopp with a trip to the Emirates Stadium on the cards as they get the new Premier League season underway against Arsenal on the 13th of August.

But three minutes from the final whistle in the Group B match, Joe Hart and his defence took their eye off the ball.

Arsenal’s North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, who they overthrew in second spot on the final day of last season, will visit Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park for his first competitive fixture as Toffees boss.

The Dutchman left England’s South with a 2-1 defeat to digest, and the Cherries have been confirmed as Manchester United’s opening day opponents for the 2016/17 campaign.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will play against West Ham. He left in 2007 and returned in 2013 but this time he will be returning in red with Manchester United.

Mourinho’s men travel to Anfield on 15 October and, the following weekend, he returns to Stamford Bridge to face his former employers Chelsea.

The forthcoming season is full of intriguing questions, and some of them will be answered in the following list of games. Now, as least as far as I’m concerned, it’s just something to take note of, maybe raise an eyebrow, and then file away for further inspection in about two months when the 2016-17 Premier League season will begin.

Reigning champions Leicester City will play the first match at Hull City.

If Burnley agree, and there’s no reason they wouldn’t, four of our first five Premier League matches will be away from home – and the only Anfield tie will be hosting the champions Leicester City.

Middlesbrough, back in the top flight for the first time in seven years, host Stoke City in their opener while Burnley welcome Swansea City at Turf Moor.
