And asked about their temperaments, 60% said Clinton has the temperament to serve effectively as president, compared to 38% saying no, while Trump’s numbers were 33% saying yes and 62% saying no.

It was that readiness that former Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell, a Clinton ally and co-host of the Democratic National Committee convention in Philadelphia next month, told an interviewer Thursday that Warren is in “no way shape or form” ready for that job.

Sanders said he would compete in a primary in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday and would continue to push issues central to his campaign until the Democratic convention in July.

As the Democratic primary season was all but over, the notion of party unity had become a crucial topic in the Democratic field.

Senator Elizabeth Warren has declared herself ready to be Hillary Clinton’s running mate in the USA presidential election.

“I’ve seen her judgement, I’ve seen her toughness, I’ve seen her commitment to our values up close”, Obama added of his one-time rival.

“Vice-president Joe Biden also appeared to give his endorsement on Thursday, referring in a speech to “… whoever the next president is – and god willing it will be Hillary Clinton”.

He also pointed out that overall, the Democratic Party is united in its key priorities and principles.

“Look, I know how hard this job can be, that’s why I know Hillary will be so good at it”.

“I’m ready”, she said Thursday on MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Show.

“Clinton won because she’s a fighter”, Warren said. “He wants four more years of Obama – but nobody else does!”, he zinged on Twitter to his 8.7 million nutty followers.

Hillary Clinton hit another campaign milestone: Most retweeted tweet.

“I think that it’s clear now that we need to start thinking about all of us together”, she said, “and we need to think about the difference between us and the Republicans”.

Obama’s endorsement and Sanders’ visit were the public culmination of that work.
