Sanders’ Mistake Was Not Declaring Victory After He Already Won
Bernie Sanders (I-VT) met in D.C. for what both campaigns described as a “positive discussion”.

The meeting between Clinton and Sanders was planned on June 7 when the former secretary of state secured enough delegates to become the presumed Democratic nominee, scoring victories in heavily populated states California and New Jersey.
The duo discussed substantially raising the minimum wage, real campaign finance reform, making health care universal and accessible, making college affordable and reducing student debt, Briggs said.
The campaigns issued separate statements giving similar descriptions of the meeting. “We need a person at the leadership of the DNC who is vigorously supporting and out working to bring people into the political process”. A Bloomberg Politics poll released Wednesday shows Trump 5 points ahead of Clinton on the question of who is best to handle terror threats at home and overseas. Clinton also secured the endorsement of Senator Elizabeth Warren of MA, a leader of the party’s progressive wing. “What I know is that we are working hard to make sure that we have the best nominating convention that any political party has ever put on that will launch our nominee into the white house and into the fall campaign”. He attracted hordes of young people, a crucial part of Obama’s winning coalition that Clinton must now woo.
Whether Mr Sanders endorses her enthusiastically and campaigns for her, or recognises her as the nominee but otherwise withholds his blessing, is a significant concern for some Clinton advisers.
The final two Nevada superdelegates who hadn’t publicly committed to a Democratic candidate now say they’re supporting Hillary Clinton for president.
Those issues and more were likely discussed inside the conference room at the Hilton, where Sanders and Clinton met behind closed doors and away from the throng of reporters who crowded into an alley to catch a glimpse of the candidates entering the hotel.
Sanders did not say when or if he will drop out of the presidential race. Warren’s populist credentials will boost Clinton’s ability to court Sanders voters.
Sanders also announced he will address his supporters Thursday at 8:30 ET via livestream, where he could reveal his next steps. I think running a campaign based on bigotry, based on trying to separate us, based on attacking of Latinos and Mexicans and Muslims and African-Americans.
Trump has denounced “stupid” trade deals that hurt USA workers, a message that could have resonance in labor-heavy Rust Belt states that have been in the Democratic column in past elections such as Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. Sanders’ “political revolution” is revealed to be nothing more than a means of channeling popular opposition to the economic and political system back behind the Democratic Party.

Lucy Flores – whom Sanders endorsed in Nevada’s crowded 4th District primary and helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars – came in second by a 14-point margin.
