MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich. (AP) – Ohio Gov. John Kasich is scheduled to speak at a Republican gathering in Michigan in September.

After the release of two new polls today, Kasich is hovering just inside the 10-candidate threshold established by debate sponsor Fox News. The 63-year-old Kasich entered the race July 21 to become the 16th major GOP candidate this cycle.

On Friday, the Real Clear Politics website had Kasich finishing 9th in an average of the sixth most recent national polls, with 3.5 percent support.

Last week Kasich downplayed any concerns that he may or may not have about making that first debate in his home state. “If he doesn’t make it, it’s one of those lines that gets written into every news story about him“.

Involved in the coordination of that operation was Hali Buck, assistant director of event services at the Ohio Union, who said the planning process for the event began in mid-June. How is the field looking one week out? A Kasich spokesman told The Plain Dealer of Cleveland that most of Karen Kasichs assets were inherited. And for Linda Kaiser, the departed pup’s proprietor, it made her a Kasich supporter for all times.

If Kasich can earn a spot in the August 6th debate, he could very well be the man to beat going forward.

“The debate, it’s nice to be there, but it’s not the end of the world if it doesn’t happen”. Kasich’s marketing campaign didn’t reply to a CBS request for remark concerning the legend of Magic.

Kasich has spent four out of the 11 days he’s been a candidate in New Hampshire, hosting six public town halls and meeting business owners and elected officials.

Kasich has a long history of political office and interest.

On Fox News Sunday, he appeared to blame the media for his position in early polls.

Presidential candidates will do pretty much anything to win over New Hampshire voters.

Once he gets on the stage, Kondik said, he will have to use his time wisely and try to make an impression.

“We keep wanting to tear people down who we have grown to respect and admire”, he said.

“No question that the Kasich campaign’s timely announcement and advertising campaign has edged him up in the polls from where he was even just a couple of weeks ago”, Newhouse said.
