Her brother Marcus, who tackled the man who shot her, recalled the moment.
“Christina was awesome”, he said.
The town’s mayor, Randy Brown, also spoke.
Compton told the newspaper that she flew to California to be with Grimmie’s mother after the shooting and flew back with her Monday afternoon.
She said: “He did look a little bit nervous, but he was by himself and he was dressed as any other concertgoer”.
The police had noted that she was “very intoxicated” and the matter wasn’t taken any further. “My heart goes out”.
Destiny Rivera has recalled the terrifying incidents of that night, revealing that she was stood directly behind the gunman.
The courageous older brother also paid to tribute the victims of the Orlando shooting, who lost their lives less than two days after Grimmie was gunned down.
Brown urged the crowd to follow Grimmie’s spirit. You can remember only that she’s gone or you can cherish her memory and let it live on.

Grimmie was raised in Marlton, but moved during high school to Southern California.

Marcus Grimmie insisted donations were not necessary.

Detectives are searching Loibl’s mobile phone and social media accounts for clues as to why he staged the shooting, but believe the alleged attacker had no history of stalking Grimmie and did not know her personally.
