Let’s take a look at these new devices and see what the excitement is all about. Project Tango is a device platform that allows the phone to understand its location and build a three-dimensional map of indoor spaces.

Its coming release has led Google to drop “Project” from its title in favour of just “Tango”. Its front camera has an 8-megapixel sensor, runs radio FM and has a 4,050mAh battery that promises a full day of use on one charge.

Lenovo has announced the latest addition to its smartphone lineup.

The technology firm has partnered with American home improvement firm Lowe’s to create a new app that will enable users to measure rooms and virtually redecorate using the new phone.

A Lenovo smartphone unveiled Thursday will be clever enough to grasp your physical surroundings – such as the room’s size and the presence of other people – and potentially transform how we interact with e-commerce, education and gaming. This tech has been attempted before, but the environmental understanding that Tango provides opens up a new level of depth for companies to utilize.

None of that is necessary with the Phab2 Pro.

PHAB2 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, has 4G LTE connectivity, along with time stamping and camera and sensor processing capabilities.

This is also the first smartphone to be feature Dolby 5.1 Audio capture and Dolby Atmos Sound.

Lenovo says the Phab2 Pro will sell for $500 when it begins shipping in the U.S.in August. It comes in two color options: Champagne Gold and Gunmetal Grey.

The PHAB2 Plus comes with two 13MP rear cameras that have instant focus, fast f2.0 lenses and the same professional-grade Futjitsu Milbeaut image signal processor that powers the Leica camera. Software-wise, Lenovo notes that the PHAB2 Plus will feature full manual controls, allowing enthusiasts to capture the ideal shot. The Lenovo PHAB2 will be the novice device, coming in at $199 and sporting a MediaTek Quad-Core MT 8735 processor, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space that is expandable up to 128GB.

According to Meredith, the handset will be available worldwide from September this year.

The PHAB2 is the base model of the bunch.
