‘Hamilton’ the musical coming to Denver

Munoz also took over Miranda’s role in his first musical, “In the Heights”.

Creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda will be leaving Hamilton, taking his final bow July 9 – but as they say, the exorbitantly priced show will quite literally go on.

It’s no wonder that Miranda kept this plan to film the show under his tricorn hat for so long: knowing that the original cast will be preserved on film will somewhat deflate the insane demand for Hamilton tickets. After the big victories at the 2016 Tony Awards, most people figured that Miranda would be stepping down from the Alexander Hamilton role and that is the case. The show tells the story of American founding father Alexander Hamilton with a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap and R&B. Miranda said Thursday his last performance will be July 9. “I plan to revisit this role a lot”.

Students at a Scarborough high school hoped the viral success of their Hamilton tribute clips would get them the right to stage the Broadway musical, but they were shocked to learn that the show’s PR company wouldn’t even let them stay on YouTube.

Yep, Javier took over for Lin as Usnavi in In the Heights, which also earned a handful of Tony Awards.

In addition, Miranda said that he also did sit-down interviews for the documentary, which is titled Hamilton’s America. He has written music for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the upcoming animated feature in Disney’s Moana, a musical, animated tale about a Polynesian princess that comes out in November.

The five-time Tony award victor went on clear up some confusion about the shake-up on Twitter Thursday morning in his signature poetic style.

Unfortunately, while the musical is still such a hit – with prime seats selling out as far in advance as early 2017 – the filmed version of the show might not be coming as soon as many fans would like. There’s a 90-minute, independently produced documentary, “Hamilton’s America”, that will be broadcast October 17 on PBS.

Miranda will be focusing on other projects. “I’m still jealous he got to perform for Jay-Z & Beyonce”.
