Hizb militants killed in Sopore encounter
In a fierce gun-battle with Security forces early on Friday, one militant was killed, officials said.

He added security forces retaliated after militants opened fire.
Two persons were injured on friday as security forces fired teargas shells and used batons to chase away stone-pelting protesters at different places in Srinagar and Baramulla districts of Kashmir valley, police said.
The militants, including a commander of the outfit, were killed in a joint operation by the army’s counter-insurgency Kilo Force and Special Operations Group of the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Bomai village of Sopore.
The encounter happened in Bomai area of Sopore.
Both the militants were shot dead in the gunfight that lasted for several hours, he said.
In the ensuing gunfight, one militant has been killed.

Police identified the slain militants as Imtiyaz Ahmed Lone son of Abdul Khaliq of Ussan Pattan and Altaf Ahmed Mir son of Abdul Rashid a resident of Bratkalan Sopore. “Operation is going on”, said an Army spokesman.
